Care Advice

All Love Margo garments are hand wash only at less than 30 degrees centigrade. All knitted pieces need to be washed and dried flat and this is simpler than you think. Plus merino wool gets softer the more you wash it so it almost makes you want to do the washing!

If you use a wool-wash or knitwear friendly detergent, don’t use warm water for the washing, even if that is recommended on the packet. Dissolve powders or mix liquids in a small amount of warm water, then add cold water before you wash. If you’re unsure about the temperature you can buy a thermometer for less than a pound.

All hand-washed garments benefit from having the water spun out quickly either by machine or fold it in thick towels and walk up and down on the bundle, changing towels as they get sodden, until as much water as possible has been pushed out of the yarn.

Then lay the garment out on a dry towel (or several towels) and blot out the excess moisture before reshaping gently and let it dry on a flat surface from direct heat or sunlight.

If the garment needs a gently steam from an iron, do this on the wrong side & try not to touch the fabric with the iron.

Pulls and snags in knits

This can happen and is due the delicacy of all knitwear but don’t worry it’s easy to rectify. Gently pull the knit in both directions until the snagged yarn has virtually gone then push the last bit of pulled yarn from the front of the fabric through to the back.

To make sure you will truly love your garments, Catherine will knit pieces slightly shorter or longer and will undertake commissions.
